Yesterday, during Friday prayer, a terror incident occurred which was the first of this nature in the history of New Zealand. Australian-born 28 years old Brenton Tarrant, after parking his car, carrying five semi-automatic guns, entered two mosques of Christchurch city; Alnoor and Linwood mosques, opened fire on Muslim worshippers, killing 49 and injured more than 20.
In today's hearing, he was charged with murder, two other suspects are also in police custody, one is 18 years Daniel John and other's identity remains undisclosed. New Zealand Prime Says the main suspect will be charged with more crimes. April 15 has been scheduled for the next date for hearing the case.
New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern had announced to keep the flags half-mast as a mark of mourning and respect to victims of the shooting.

The murderer used five guns, all were licensed, he modified them and printed with anti-Muslim slogans. A 74- pages manifesto was also found by the authorities which was posted by the suspect on Social media platform. He vowed to commit violence and kill Muslims. He appreciates US President Donald Trump and some other world leaders. His manifesto is basically anti-Islam and anti-immigration.
He broadcasted his shooting rampage live by a helmet-mounted camera on Facebook but the video was soon removed from the site, then his Twitter account was also suspended.
New Zealand Attorney general David Parker says, Govt will ban semi-automatic rifles and present gun laws will be changed, in the wake of this incident.
The first victim of this unfortunate occurrence was an aged Afghani Daud Nabi, who said to the killer " hello brother ", and was shot dead.
Pakistani born Naem Rashid, in his bid to overpower the violent attacker, succumbed to injuries, and he lost his son also.
New Zealand government has now warned Muslims not to visit mosques all over the country.
Natives of the country have been gathering near the incident site with flowers and solidarity banners, lighting candles. The candlelight vigil was held outside the mosque in honour.
World leaders have issued their strongest condemnation statements and conveyed deep sympathy for the bereaved families. Pakistani Prime minister Imran khan has also condemned the incident in strongest form, reportedly five Pakistani nationals have been injured and some are still missing. The total number of incident victims is yet to be ascertained by the New Zealand Government.
