New World Order
New World Order
The powerful countries of the world have always been desirous to rule over the world through various means. After World War-II, the United States of America and Russia appeared to be the two superpowers of the world and they played a pivotal role in the world's economy and political matters. But in 1991, the great Soviet Union (USSR) had broken into pieces, Russia's splendid kingdom had partitioned in 12 states; these twelve new states of Russia had emerged on the map of the world. After the breakup of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR), being a sole superpower of that time, the United States of America (USA) started to increase its influence on those newly emerged states; it also initiated to spread the impact in other countries as well. World Bank has warned that due to COVID-19 pandemic, the global economy will shrink by 5.2% and it would be the worst economic recession since the World War-II.
The historic
mishap of 9/11 had badly affected the US economy, and we witnessed the collapse
of Iraq and Afghanistan regimes afterward. Before that, in 2010, Arab spring
started to take place; as a result, it was seen that the regimes were rapidly
falling and rising, and this dramatic fall and rise of the regimes is
continued.
Presently
some unfortunate war-torn countries like Iran, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Afghanistan,
and others are facing the situation of civil unrest, their economy has been
badly affected. The Countries which were once at daggers drawn with the United
States, nowadays they are provided US aid,
American military camps have been established, meanwhile, their oil
installations have been taken over by Americans. There are certain
crisis-stricken countries in the Middle East and some parts of Africa where
foreign policies and internal policies are formulated following the wishes of
the United States.
On the other
hand, China has appeared to be the world’s new economic power, it gradually
expanded its reach to global markets, now we can see Chinese commercial markets
in almost every corner of the world. Some economy experts say China will soon
emerge as the world's largest economy and because of Donald Trump’s foreign
dealings and the ongoing trade war with China, the American economy will
experience a decline in the future.
COVID -19
pandemic is going to bring again a new world order, where the United States of
America and China will play key roles but at the same time, United Kingdom,
Israel, European Union, and even India look ambitious to participate in the
process. As we can see the Covid-19 pandemic is now subsiding in most
countries, now its impact will further damage the global economy; the American
economy seems no exception but China will be the only country that will emerge
as a sole superpower of the world.
Turkey seems
to be rapidly moving towards changing the status quo of the regions of the
Ottoman era. Tensions between Turkey and Greece in Eastern Mediterranean are
not likely to de-escalate soon; Greece and Turkey have been conducting maritime
exercises with their allies in the disputed Mediterranean, both have increased
their military presence in parts of the disputer Seawater. Both European allies
are claiming their right on the hydrocarbon resources in the Eastern
Mediterranean, Turkish President on August 25, during celebrations anniversary
on the occasion of the Malazgirt Battle of 1071 said “Those who want to
confront us at the expenses of paying a price, be our guest. Otherwise, do not
stand in front of us.” Germany on the other hand is trying to diffuse the
escalation," German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas said after meeting his
Greek counterpart Nikos Dendias in Athens that “the current situation in the
eastern Mediterranean is equivalent to playing with fire.”
Koert
Debeuf, an associate researcher for the Institute for European Studies has
expressed some threatening observations and analyses about a possible
confrontation in the Middle-East. In an analysis for EU Observer, he said:
“Today there are two enemy alliances as there were in 2014, Germany, Australia,
Hungary were dealing with the United Kingdom, France and USSR and now there is
the ‘revolutionary alliance of Turkey, Qatar, Iran and Muslim brotherhood
against Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.”
The
Australian economy in the first time of last thirty years has plunged into
recession, Covid-19 pandemic has affected its economic growth, also at the
start of the year 2020 a massive bushfire in Australia severely damaged the
country’s economy.
After the
pandemic is over, in the new world order, countries of the world seem to be
divided, most of them will focus on their production, because the import and
export of several countries will be affected negatively. In that new era, the
countries that will be able to utilize their resources in the best possible
way, they will survive. And the countries that fail to satisfy the needs of
their respective nations owing to lack of resources, will surely face the major
crisis.
In the new
world order, internet-based digital currency cryptocurrency will touch its
peak, it might get legal status even in those states where it is now banned.
Israel will be the key player in that virtual currency game, new banking
systems will be launched, there will be made new agreements, different new
institutes will be established. In the public health sector, innovate and more
powerful technology will be introduced which will play a major role. To cope
with the challenges of climate change and cybercrime, enhanced cybersecurity
initiatives will be taken.
After the
World War II, the United Nations Organization was made to settle various
conflicts among the countries of the then world, the same way, another
international treaty the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT) was
adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 1996 to ban nuclear tests for
civilian and military purposes. In the present situation of post-COVID-19
pandemic also, new global administrative bodies might be formed, new military
alliances will be seen, updated labour standards will be released, a
comparatively rapid process of globalization will be observed in the future.
We are now
perhaps in the process of the making of a New World Order; Israel is now
expending its relations to Arab states, Turkey on the other hand seems to be
creating a separate alliance, Russia and China are also joining hands with
Pakistan, Turkey, Malaysia, Indonesia, Iran, and Qatar. Afghan Taliban are
going to be a strengthened military power in the region, India is looking
towards the United States and Israel for support in dealing with Chinese
military aggression, Chinese one belt initiative is a historic landmark for its
economic exponential growth throughout Asia, Europe, America, and Africa.
Pakistan-China Economic Corridor is a regional connectivity framework that will
have a positive economic impact on all regional countries which have become its
part.
