PDM Jalsa at Baag e Jinnah Karachi Pakistan Democratic Alliance holding second anti-government Jalsa at Baag e Jinnah Karachi Sumera Naz Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) organized a grand congregation (Jalsa) on the day when a brutal attack was carried out on former Prime Minister of Pakistan Benazir Bhutto’s caravan in Karachi on October 18, 2007. The incident caused the death of at least 180 people and 500 were injured. This was the second Jalsa of this alliance (consisting of 11 political parties) held after its first Jalsa which was held in Gujranwala city of Punjab province two days earlier . Diamir Bhasha Dam Rashid Hussain On 15 July 2020, Pakistan’s 3rd biggest dam Diamir Bhasha Dam was inaugurated by Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan. The dam is designed to generate 4500 Megawatt electricity and it will have the capacity to store 8 million Acre Feet of water, it is said to be the highest dam of the country with a height of 272 meters. The dam will create about 16000 jobs for local persons of the area, it will also contribute towards boosting of country’s Tourism Industry as well. It is expected that the dam construction will be completed by the end of the year 2028. The site of Pakistan’s third biggest dam Diamir Bhasha is located at Chilas city of district Diamir, Gilgit Baltistan. The plan to build this dam was formulated in the 1980s, its foundation stone was laid in 2008 but now its construction work has kicked off. Pakistan Resolution Day celebrated across the World Rashid Hussain Pakistan Day began with a 31 guns salute in the Islamabad and 21 guns salute in the provincial capitals, the change of guard ceremony was held at the mausoleum of Allama Muhammad Iqbal in Lahore. Pakistan Day is celebrated every year on March 23 to commemorate the adoption of the Lahore Resolution in 1940 which resulted in the creation of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. In the past, owing to ongoing Military operations against the Terrorists in the country, Pakistan, for some years, could not organize Pakistan Day Event by holding a traditional military parade, which is a hallmark of celebration. In Pakistan also, programs were organized by the government and rallies, seminars were held by different NGOs in all big cities of the country. In this regard, feminism March was carried out by some NGOs in Islamabad, the privileged women were carrying objectionable and inappropriate play cards, posters and banners which was disgusting in all respects, sensible people all around the country condemned it; they were spreading vulgarised atmosphere in the name of demanding women empowerment.
