Dr Ruth Pfao Gets Tribute on Google

Rashid Hussain Google is paying tribute to renowned German doctor Dr Ruth Pfau on her 90th birthday, who dedicated her life to eradicate leprosy from Pakistan. Google honours prominent personalities and occasions with special logos that it calls 'doodles'. In the past, the giant search engine paid tribute to Pakistan’s prominent personalities, Abdul Sattar Edhi, Noor Jahan (Malika e Taranum), Mirza Ghalib, Mehdi Hassan, Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali khan and other renowned personalities. Google has also been showing Pakistan's Independence Day and other events of national importance on Doodle. Rain is Its main source of obtaining freshwater through streams of Kirthar mountainous range, Nai Gaaj is a hill torrent that emanates from Khuzdar district of Balochistan and after passing through the plains of Kutch, it eventually enters Manchhar Lake. Nai Gaaj remains dry throughout the year except for three to four months of monsoon when Manchhar gets water. The area of the lake fluctuates with the seasons from as little as 350 kilometers to as much as 550 kilometers. Pakistan Day is celebrated every year on March 23 to commemorate the adoption of the Lahore Resolution in 1940 which resulted in the creation of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Prolonged Violent Yellow Vest Demonstration in France Yellow vest truck drivers' violent protest Rashid Hussain  drivers and motorists have been protesting against the rise in the price of diesel. In France, It was believed that diesel was less pollutant than petrol, but now more tax on diesel has been imposed. Protesters have chosen high visible yellow jackets to put on while demonstrating, the movement is known as "Gilet Jaunes" in French for Yellow Vest. The peaceful movement soon became a rebellion, protesters are not willing to put an end to the protest despite Government's proposals for decreasing price and engaging in more constructive debate. Terror Incident in New Zealand Christchurch Mosque New Zealand Suspect being held by New Zealand Police Yesterday, during Friday prayer, a terror incident occurred which was the first of this nature in the history of New Zealand. Australian-born 28 years old Brenton Tarrant, after parking his car, carrying five semi-automatic guns, entered two mosques of Christchurch city; Alnoor and Linwood mosques, opened fire on Muslim worshippers, killing 49 and injured more than 20. Indian Water Aggression Rashid Hussain In response to Pakistan's peace initiatives, India's response came negatively, India, without informing Pakistan Government before taking action, closed the flow of water towards Pakistan. The water flows from three Eastern Rivers: The  Ravi, The Sutlej, and The Beyas; have been halted by India Government following the effective retaliation by Pakistan Air Force to Its air violation. Speaking to reporters on March 10, Mr. Meghwal, Indian Minister of State for Water Resources, said that 0.53 million acre-feet water of Eastern rivers, which was flowing into Pakistan, had been stopped and stored, which would be used for irrigation and drinking purposes in Rajasthan, India. According to the Indian stance, they have stopped the flow of their share which does not violate any Treaty and India is entitled to use that water under the Indus Water Treaty 1960. Polio Vaccination Marks being checked Rashid Hussain Poliomyelitis (Polio) is a highly infectious viral disease, caused by the Polio Virus, which causes paralysis after attacking the nervous system. Its main victims are children whose immune system is comparatively weaker than adults. It spreads in areas with poor sanitation through faeces into the water supply or coming in contact with the polio-affected persons. It can only be prevented and eradicated by immunization which is consistently carried out throughout the world. Pakistan has achieved a good deal of success in the polio eradication campaign since its Eradication Program started in 1994, but the massive decline in polio cases started to be reported in the year 2000.
